Canine Gait & Static Assessment

Canine Musculoskeletal & Nervous SystemA good understanding of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems and how they enable your dog to move can help us to appreciate how complex the dog is and how amazing it is that they can excel at so many different activities. This course will be delivered through a mixture of theory and hands on practise with the use of plenty of anatomy props by Stef Watts of Your4legs Therapy Training School.

An Introduction to Injuries, Illness & Conditions and RehabilitationAn introduction to injuries, illnesses and conditions and rehabilitation.
This course will give you a detailed understanding of some of the most common canine injuries. illnesses and conditions, together with common breed predispositions. You will also gain an introduction to the importance of rehabilitation and the techniques and tools that are often used, including hands-on practise to enable you to use some of the therapy techniques on your own dog(s) CPD = 8 hours |
EQUINE COURSES
Equine Gait & Static AssessmentA simple and sound process for assessing how your horse is moving, together with how the static confirmation of a horse can influence its gait are invaluable tools for those working within the equine industry. This will be demonstrated by Stef Watts of Your4legs Therapy Training School using a mixture of theory and demonstration, with plenty of hands-on practise. The course will also involve practising your skills using both the naked eye and high-speed video equipment, to give you an understanding of the different systems that can be used to assess a horses’ gait.

Equine Musculoskeletal & Nervous SystemA good understanding of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems and how they enable your horse to move and even sleep standing up can help us to appreciate how complex the horse is and how amazing it is that they can excel at so many different disciplines. This course will be delivered through a mixture of theory and hands on practise with the use of plenty of anatomy props by Stef Watts of Your4legs Therapy Training School. The course will also cover the number of different muscles that can be influenced by the fit and balance of you and your saddle.

Saddle FittingSaddle fitting is an important aspect of the horse care team. A detailed insight into this subject will be demonstrated by an industry expert, encompassing what is involved in fitting a saddle, how saddles are constructed and the training involved to becoming a Master Saddler. The course will also cover the number of different muscles that can be influenced by the fit and balance of you and your saddle, presented by Stef Watts of Your4legs Therapy Training School. This knowledge will help you to understand the processes that these experts use to help our horses and to appreciate the level of training that is required to qualify within their field.

FarrieryFarriery and looking after your horses’ hooves and hoof balance is an important part of your horses’ care. This course will be delivered by an industry expert and will encompass a demonstration of the shoeing process, the training required to become a farrier and the importance of hoof balance and remedial farriery. There will also be the opportunity to be involved in an equine lower limb dissection to reveal the important structures within the hoof capsule and the key tendons and ligaments of the lower limb. This knowledge will help you to understand the importance and the processes involved to help maintain good hoof balance and an appreciation of the level of training that is required to qualify within their field.

DentistryDentistry and looking after your horses’ teeth is an important part of your horses care. A detailed insight into this subject will be demonstrated by an industry expert, encompassing equine dental anatomy and how an imbalance in the teeth can affect your horses’ performance and behaviour, together with the training required to becoming an equine dentist. There will be a practical demonstration of the dental check process where possible. This knowledge will help you to understand the importance of equine dental care and to appreciate the level of training that is required to qualify within their field.
